About B3
Imagine a steel cage match between Daughtry, Coldplay, Paramore and Demon Hunter with Joe Satriani as the referee... That is the perfect way to describe the music of Barry French. Barry, or "Big Blue" as his friends call him, began his musical journey as a drummer, playing every Sunday at his local church. Soon after that, he began learning the guitar and he never looked back.
After many years of playing in bands Barry made the decision in the summer of 2007 to focus solely on writing music for Film and TV. In the process, he landed his first cut as a songwriter, landing four co-writes with the artist Eowyn for her third album, produced by Grammy-nominated producer Travis Wyrick. The first single, "Silent Screams," eventually rose to #17 on the National R&R Christian Rock Charts.
In early 2009, Barry signed his first publishing deal with a music library and soon after that, placements began to follow on shows such as The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Dr. Oz Show, The Nate Berkus Show, Parental Control (MTV), Fantasy Factory (MTV), Toddlers and Tiaras (TLC), Sniper (History) and more.
In addition to writing music for production libraries, Barry also scores music to picture. It began with a section of an independent documentary film and most recently he scored his first feature film, an independent film starring Christian vocalist Natalie Grant and Country Singer/Songwriter Billy Dean.
And as if he didn't already have enough to do, Barry also stays busy writing for a couple of "band" projects, Crushing Gray, a hard rock band in the style of Breaking Benjamin and Nickelback, consisting of himself and co-writer/vocalist Logan Rayne Pepper and the other being The Big Blue Shoes, a more modern indie-pop-rock band consisting of himself and co-writer/vocalist Joel Shoemake.
