Update for 13-Feb-2010

I had a few moments so I thought I'd get everyone up to date with what's been going on the last few weeks.

First off, the short film that I worked on with Lydia Ashton a couple of weeks ago is now finished. The director created a Facebook page for the film which you can see by clicking here. He just added a link to the video on the page so you can now see the film online.

Last week I had a chance to write a piano-based cue for one of my library deals. It was a very quick turnaround. Very quick. I'm talking we found out about it on Wednesday in the early evening and the cue was due the next day. Mine didn't get picked up for the project but I got an email from my manager this week saying that it looks like the client is going to pick it up after all for use in their general library. So all the hard work paid off after all.

Staying on the music library front... I'm almost finished with my hard rock/metal album for the publisher in England. I've knocked out four tracks over the last two weeks and now I only have two more to go. My contact there told me that they are planning on releasing this album for downloads to the general public as well, but the details still have to be worked out. Speaking of downloads...

In my last update I mentioned that I would be having some of my music available for downloading on March 1st. I'm going through the process of selecting and organizing which tracks I'm actually gonna make available. As of right now, the songs that are on my current ReverbNation profile are definitely going to be available. It's some of my back catalog that I'm debating on.

Finally... you may have noticed a banner ad on the site mentioning the B3x10K Challenge that also happens to be scheduled for March 1st. While there is a tie-in with the downloads, it is much more than that. I'll have much more to say about it in a couple of weeks. I'm very excited about it, but also quite nervous about it as well.

Until next time...
