Here's the scoop on all the kits I've owned throughout the years...

Tama Superstar Kit - 19911991 - 1996
My first kit was a 5-pc Tama Superstar series (8", 10", 14", 16" toms and 24" bass drum) in a white finish that also had an 18" Gretsch floor tom and a 14" Rogers snare drum. It came with a pair of Camber 14" Hi-hat cymbals, a Zildjian Scimitar 20" Ride cymbal and a Zildjian 16" Z Custom Crash. My dad bought it for me for $400 on August 8, 1991. Yep, I still remember that day very vividly. Eventually I sanded down the drums to find out that the original finish was a Cherry Rosewood one. The original owner had painted the kit White with some ordinary house paint. What a travesty! I eventually added a Gibralter Double Bass Pedal.

Tama Rockstar Kit - 19971996 - 1999
My second kit was a Tama Rockstar DX series 6-pc kit in a black wrap. This was my first "new" kit as well as the first one that I had to pay for myself. I bought it from Kevin at the Drum Center of Lexington. It had 10", 12", 13" and 16" toms, a 22" bass drum, and 14" snare. I also got some new Sabian AA cymbals to go with it - a pair of 14" Hi-hats, 20" ride, 14" crash, 16" crash, and a 12" splash. I eventually also bought a DW Double Bass Pedal to go with the kit.

Tama Artstar II Custom Bird's Eye Maple Kit - 20001999 - 2001
My third kit was a used Tama Artstar II Custom Bird's Eye Maple 8-pc kit in an amber finish. It had a 10", 12", 13", 14", 14" and 16" toms, a 22" bass drum and a 24" bass drum. The kit used to belong to Mark Hammond, a Studio musician in Nashville that had played on many Christian albums recorded by artists such as Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman, and many more. I kept the cybmals and double bass pedal that I had from my last kit. I also added a Pearl 13" piccolo snare drum. The kit was also wired up with triggers mounted to the inside of the kit though I never used them.

DW Kit - 2006DW Kit - 20062006 - present
My current kit is without a doubt my DREAM KIT! It's a DW Collector's Series 6-pc kit in a cherry lacquer finish with black chrome hardware. It has a 10", 12", 14" and 16" toms, a 22" bass drum. I bought a 14" DW black steel snare drum to complete the kit. I also have Zildjian cymbals now, the kind I always wanted. I have a pair of 14" Z Custom Hi-hats, a pair of 14" A Custom Hi-hats, 8" A Custom Splash, 12" Z Custom Splash, 14" A Custom Fast Crash, 16" A Custom Crash, 16" Z Custom Medium Crash, 18" Z Custom Medium Crash and a  20" A Custom Medium Ride. In addition to those I also have the following Wuhan cybmals - 10" Splash, 8" splash that I mount upside down on my 12" Zildjian Z Custom Splash, a 12" China that I also mount the 8" Zildjian A Custom Splash upside down on top of, and finally a 16" China. I also have a Pacific Rack system that I use with the kit as well as a Tama Iron Cobra Double Bass Pedal.DW Kit - 2006 DW Kit - 2006 DW Kit - 2006
